"You Know Their All Whores! Right?" -Caleb
That's the first thing that comes out of Caleb's mouth in the beginning of the movie. Caleb is played by actor Adam Scott (Step Brothers, Monster-In-Law, and Starz comedy sitcom Party Down). He is brothers with Peter played by Alex Frost. Peter is in a relationship with Emma played by Brittany Show (John Tucker Must Die, Nip/Tuck, and voice for Naime in Kingdom Hearts II video game).
Caleb looks really messed up from the beginning of the film. He starts to bash talk that all woman are whores all they do is cheat and sleep around. You can already tell that something happened to him that gave him such a negative vibe about woman. Possibly his ex-girlfriend cheated on him?
Peter asked Caleb if he can take him and Emma to their dad's house for thanksgiving. He had to. Caleb's character is a complete asshole. He hasn't been able to sleep for weeks after finding out his girlfriend cheated on him. We find out that Caleb is not going to attend thanksgiving dinner due to his father Donald played by actor J.K Simmons (I Love You, Man, Jennifer's Body, and Starz comedy sitcom Party Down). They haven't spoke in over eight years. He didn't get into much detail about that.
Clearly Caleb is depressed, has insomnia, smokes a ridiculous amount of cigarettes, can't control himself, and says things without thinking. He finds himself finally able to get some sleep at least for 45 minutes. He thinks Emma is making him relax better, since they were able to have small chit-chat here and there. Emma has a shocking resemblance to Caleb's ex-girlfriend. Which that's why he finds himself attracted to her. But he knows this is wrong since Emma is his brothers girlfriend.
Emma tries to find out more on the whereabouts of Peter's mother since he only mentioned her once that she had died at the age of 12. She decided to ask Donald what happened with his mother? He confesses that their mother left them at the age of 1o, (which that makes two years that Peter did not see his mom when she was sick) because she was unfaithful to him and was cheating on him with another. Her sons did not want anything to do with her because of the decision she chose. And then their mother was diagnosed with cancer and died two years later. Caleb begins to tell Emma he starting to like her and how he can't control himself. He forcefully kisses her while Peter goes to the restroom. Emma is shocked and is left speechless. Emma starts to become confuse about her feelings for Peter and Caleb.
While watching the last 25-30 minutes I was standing up because I couldn't handle the situation that happened, it left me with my mouth open. Don't want to spoil the ending for you. I give this movie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 4 out of 5 hearts. This was a really good movie. I really enjoyed watching it.
